Travel Vaccinationsglobal air travel

If you require any vaccines relating to foreign travel then you need to complete the May Lane Surgery travel form and hand into the surgery at least 8 weeks prior to your travel date or you may need to attend a private travel clinic. Please call back one week after handing in the form to the surgery to be informed of your appointment. The surgery only holds travel clinics on a Friday

Additional information:

  • Travel vaccinations are an extra service that the surgery provides; we do not have an obligation to do so. If we do not have an available appointment you may be directed to a private travel clinic
  • The Surgery is only able to offer appointments for travel vaccinations on a Friday, dependant on clinic availability
  • If you cannot attend the appointment offered and fail to tell us, you will be directed to a private travel clinic for your travel vaccination needs
  • Complicated travel may need to be assessed at a private travel clinic
  • Private travel clinics are available in Stroud, Gloucester and Bristol
  • The below vaccinations are only available at private travel clinis, please check listed websites to see if they are needed for your travel ASAP and BEFORE you come for your appointment at May Lane Surgery
  • Yellow Fever needed 11 days before travel and you may not be able to enter the country without it
  • Rabies needed at least 21 days before travel. Fatal if contracted – present in most countries and not all stock the immunoglobulin needed if bitted or scratched
  • Japanese B encephalitis – 28 days before travel
